Masks instead of lingerie has also been the motto of lingerie specialist SPEIDEL since the beginning of March this year: the company has expanded its production to include masks. Now the family business gives every adult inhabitant of the community of Bodelshausen a mouth and nose mask. SPEIDEL was founded in 1952 in Bodelshausen, where the headquarters are still located today. With this donation the traditional company wants to express its solidarity with the community of Bodelshausen. Around 5,300 masks were handed over in the town hall on Wednesday.
SPEIDEL had immediately expanded its production to include oronasal masks at the beginning of March to help slow down the spread of Covid-19. This was also the reason for SPEIDEL to donate mouth-nose masks to the inhabitants of Bodelshausen. Managing director Günter Speidel and brand and product manager Swenja Speidel handed over the donation to mayor Uwe Ganzenmüller on April 22nd. The masks were distributed directly afterwards by the educators of the community with great commitment. Care facilities for the elderly and residential groups were also taken into consideration. Of course, the donation comes just in time, because from April 27th onwards, masks will be mandatory in Baden-Württemberg.
"Mouth and nose masks are increasingly difficult to obtain in the Corona crisis. With the help of the donated masks we would like to give more security and a better feeling in public life. For us this gesture was a matter of course", emphasizes Swenja Speidel.
The SPEIDEL oronasal masks are made of 100 percent organic cotton (two layers) and have a hygienic pearl coating on the outside. Droplets and saliva are thus supposed to roll off from the outside. The masks are washable and therefore reusable.
In addition to the donation in Bodelshausen, the company also donated 100 mouth and nose masks to a Tübingen initiative a few weeks ago.
